A simple, effective video demoing what Siri on the iPhone 4S can accomplish in real-world situations. Don’t forget to scroll down to read more about the new technology. From Apple:
Siri on iPhone 4S lets you use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more. Ask Siri to do things just by talking the way you talk. Siri understands what you say, knows what you mean, and even talks back. Siri is so easy to use and does so much, you’ll keep finding more and more ways to use it.
iPhone 5 Invitation
From
The Loop:
Apple on Tuesday officially announced its iPhone 5 launch event. According to the invitation received by The Loop, the event will be held on October 4 at Apple’s Cupertino, Calif. campus. The event will begin at 10:00 am PT.
I wonder if the notification badge containing the number “1” over the phone icon symbolizes that only one iPhone will be announced.
Al Gore
I just read over on
AppleInsider that on Wednesday at the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit in South Africa, Al Gore was quoted as saying:
Not to mention the new iPhones coming out next month. That was a plug
Some are interpreting this as “multiple iPhone models will be released in October.” While I agree with the October part (since next month is October), I have to wonder if the quote was transcribed incorrectly. If we rewrite the sentence, adding an apostrophe between “iPhone” and the trailing “s”, we could come to a different conclusion:
Not to mention the new iPhone’s coming out next month. That was a plug
Simply plugging in an apostrophe changes the sentence from inferring multiple iPhone models to a simple “iPhone is” contraction.
According to TmoNews, Cole Brodman, Chief Marketing Officer for T-Mobile USA, stated via a leaked internal memo that “[w]e are not going to get the iPhone 5 this year.” That makes Robert Scoble’s rumor about T-Mobile launching the iPhone 5 on September 25th null and void.
T-Mobile Leaked Internal Memo
Robert Scoble just posted on Google+ that a T-Mobile customer service rep told his friend that T-Mobile “will be the first to get iPhone 5, coming September 25, and that they have been in training for weeks for this.” Below is the full quote, as well as a screen capture:
T-Mobile getting ready for iPhone 5? A friend of mine was just on the phone with one of the customer support reps and he got him to tell him what’s up (very strange, I know, but TMobile employees might not know that’s a no-no). The rep said that the company will be the first to get iPhone 5, coming September 25, and that they have been in training for weeks for this.

Edit: Just to clarify, I marked this as a rumor for obvious reasons. Normally I would ignore stories like this, but what peaked my interest was how “they have been in training for weeks for this.”
